Ingredients

  • Calamari - 300 grams, cleaned and sliced into rings
  • Whole wheat flour - 50 grams
  • Olive oil - 50 ml, for frying
  • Lemon - 1, juiced and zested
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Dried oregano - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Greek yogurt - 150 grams
  • Cucumber - 1/2, grated and drained
  • Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano.
  2. Coat the calamari rings in the flour mixture until evenly covered.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the calamari in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped dill.
  6. Mix the tzatziki well and season with salt to taste.
  7. Serve the fried calamari hot with the tzatziki on the side.
