- Squid (calamari) - 300 grams, cleaned and cut into rings
- Almond flour - 50 grams
- Parmesan cheese, grated - 30 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Olive oil - 50 ml (for frying)
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon wedges - for serving
Steps
- In a bowl, combine almond flour, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the egg.
- Dip each calamari ring into the beaten egg, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with the almond flour mixture. Ensure an even coating.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated calamari rings, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the calamari for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried calamari from the pan and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
