  • All-purpose flour - 50 grams
  • Cornstarch - 25 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 100 ml (for frying)
  • Lemon - 1, juiced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Dredge the squid rings in the flour mixture until fully coated, shaking off any excess.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, add the squid rings in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  5. Remove the squid from the pan and place on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the lemon juice, chopped parsley, and minced garlic to create the dressing.
  7. Serve the crispy kalamari hot, drizzled with the lemon and herb dressing.
