- phyllo pastry sheets - 4 sheets
- walnuts, finely chopped - 100 grams
- Greek yogurt - 50 grams
- honey - 60 grams
- butter, melted - 50 grams
- cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
- water - 50 ml
- vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix the finely chopped walnuts, Greek yogurt, honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a flat surface and brush it with melted butter. Repeat this process with two more sheets, stacking them on top of each other.
- Spread half of the walnut mixture evenly over the stacked phyllo sheets.
- Layer another sheet of phyllo on top and brush it with melted butter. Repeat this with one more sheet.
- Spread the remaining walnut mixture over the second layer of phyllo sheets.
- Top with the last sheet of phyllo, brushing with butter on top.
- Cut the baklava into diamond or square shapes using a sharp knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a small saucepan, combine water and honey, and bring to a gentle boil. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Remove the baklava from the oven and pour the honey mixture evenly over the hot baklava.
- Let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
