Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs - 300 grams

  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1/2, diced
  • Tomato - 1, diced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Tzatziki sauce - 100 grams (store-bought or homemade)
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the chicken is marinating, prepare the vegetables by dicing the cucumber and tomato, and thinly slicing the red onion.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken thighs.
  5. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
  6. While the chicken is resting, warm the pita bread on the grill for about 1-2 minutes per side.
  7. Slice the grilled chicken into strips.
  8. To assemble the gyro wrap, place a few strips of chicken on each pita, add diced cucumber, tomato, red onion, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish and wrap the pita around the filling.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious gyro wrap!
