Ingredients

  • Whole wheat pizza dough - 250 grams
  • Ground lamb - 200 grams
  • Ground beef - 100 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 150 grams
  • Feta cheese, crumbled - 50 grams
  • Red onion, thinly sliced - 50 grams
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved - 100 grams
  • Greek yogurt - 50 grams

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground lamb, ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meat mixture and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Roll out the whole wheat pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness and shape.
  5. Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  6. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the cooked gyro meat mixture.
  8. Add red onion slices, cherry tomatoes, and crumbled feta cheese on top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Top with fresh parsley and dollops of Greek yogurt before slicing and serving.
