Ingredients

  • Halloumi cheese - 200 grams
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2

  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh basil leaves - 1/4 cup
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Slice the halloumi cheese into 1 cm thick slices.
  3. Drizzle the halloumi slices with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
  4. Grill the halloumi for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly charred.
