- Gluten-free ziti pasta - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, diced
- Red bell pepper - 1, diced
- Ground beef or lamb - 250 grams
- Canned diced tomatoes - 400 grams
- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cook the gluten-free ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and diced onion, sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the diced red bell pepper and ground beef or lamb to the skillet. Cook until the meat is browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce, half of the crumbled feta cheese, and half of the shredded mozzarella. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Top with the remaining mozzarella and feta cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
