Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (such as cod or haddock) - 250g
  • Rice flour - 100g
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Paprika - 1/2 tsp
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Olive oil - 100ml (for frying)
  • Greek yogurt - 150g
  • Cucumber - 1 small, grated
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Fresh dill - 1 tbsp, chopped
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated cucumber with a pinch of salt and let it sit for 10 minutes to release excess water.
  2. In another bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, and season with salt to taste. Set this tzatziki sauce aside.
  3. Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Dredge each fish fillet in rice flour, shaking off any excess, then dip into the beaten egg, allowing the excess to drip off.
  5. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated fish fillets and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked through.
  6. Remove the fish from the pan and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the fried fish hot with a generous side of tzatziki sauce.
