Ingredients

  • Phyllo dough - 4 sheets
  • Walnuts - 100 grams, finely chopped
  • Almonds - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Clove powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Butter - 50 grams, melted
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Powdered sugar - for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, combine the chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, sugar, cinnamon, and clove powder. Mix well.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush it again with butter.
  4. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the nut mixture along one edge of the phyllo, leaving some space from the edges.
  5. Carefully roll the phyllo over the nut mixture to form a log shape, tucking in the edges as you go to seal the filling inside.
  6. Place the rolled Flogeres on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining phyllo and filling.
  7. Brush the tops of the rolls with any remaining melted butter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. While the Flogeres are baking, prepare the syrup by boiling water and honey in a small saucepan for about 5 minutes.
  10. Once baked, remove the Flogeres from the oven and immediately drizzle the honey syrup over them.
  11. Allow them to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
