Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Ground walnuts - 50 grams
  • Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams, softened
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • Honey - 60 ml
  • Orange zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar - for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, ground walnuts, ground cinnamon, and baking powder. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the honey, orange zest, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  6. Shape the dough into small balls (about 2.5 cm in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 5 cm apart.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.
  10. Once cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar before serving.
