Ingredients
- Ground beef - 400 grams
- Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions. Flatten each portion into a patty and place 25 grams of crumbled feta in the center of two patties. Top with the remaining two patties and seal the edges tightly to form stuffed burgers.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the stuffed burgers and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns on a separate skillet or grill until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked burger, tomato slices, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
