- Ground turkey - 250 grams
- Fresh spinach - 100 grams, chopped
- Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Egg - 1 large
- Bread crumbs - 40 grams
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Oregano - 1 teaspoon, dried
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 2
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped spinach, crumbled feta, minced garlic, chopped red onion, egg, bread crumbs, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by lightly toasting them in another skillet or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, topping with sliced tomato, cucumber, and a lettuce leaf.
