  • Active dry yeast - 7 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
  • Kalamata olives - 50 grams, pitted and chopped
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Incorporate the crumbled feta cheese and chopped olives into the dough, kneading gently to distribute.
  6. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl, covering it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  8. After the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf or round shape.
  9. Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it rest for another 10 minutes.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
