- Fava beans (dried) - 100 grams
- Water - 500 ml
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Chopped walnuts - 30 grams (for garnish)
Steps
- Soak the dried fava beans in water overnight to soften them.
- Drain and rinse the soaked fava beans, then place them in a pot with 500 ml of fresh water.
- Bring the water to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook the beans for about 20 minutes, or until they are tender.
- Once cooked, drain any excess water and transfer the beans to a blender or food processor.
- Add honey, vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt to the blender with the fava beans.
- Blend until smooth, adding a little water if necessary to achieve a creamy consistency.
- Pour the mixture into serving bowls or cups and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
- Before serving, sprinkle chopped walnuts on top for garnish.
