Ingredients

  • Fava beans (dried) - 100 grams
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Chopped walnuts - 30 grams (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Soak the dried fava beans in water overnight to soften them.
  2. Drain and rinse the soaked fava beans, then place them in a pot with 500 ml of fresh water.
  3. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook the beans for about 20 minutes, or until they are tender.
  4. Once cooked, drain any excess water and transfer the beans to a blender or food processor.
  5. Add honey, vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt to the blender with the fava beans.
  6. Blend until smooth, adding a little water if necessary to achieve a creamy consistency.
  7. Pour the mixture into serving bowls or cups and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set.
  8. Before serving, sprinkle chopped walnuts on top for garnish.
