Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 300 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh mint - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
- Greek yogurt - 100 grams (for tzatziki)
- Cucumber - ¼, grated
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - a pinch (for tzatziki)
- Dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped (optional)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped mint, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and the beaten egg. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball, and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and chopped dill (if using). Stir until well mixed.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the meatballs warm, accompanied by the tzatziki sauce on the side.
