- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 avocado, mashed
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (for avocado sauce)
- Salt and pepper to taste (for avocado sauce)
- 2 whole wheat burger buns
- Lettuce leaves (for serving)
- Tomato slices (for serving)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey or chicken, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and lime juice. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

- Heat olive oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden brown color.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the avocado sauce by mashing the avocado in a small bowl, then mixing in lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
- To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, add the cooked patty, top with tomato slices, and spread a generous amount of the avocado sauce before closing with the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Cilantro Lime Burgers!
