Ingredients
- chickpeas - 200 grams (cooked or canned, drained)
- all-purpose flour - 50 grams
- fresh parsley - 30 grams, chopped
- fresh dill - 15 grams, chopped
- green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- garlic - 1 clove, minced
- ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- olive oil - for frying
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the cooked chickpeas with a fork or potato masher until slightly chunky.
- Add the flour, chopped parsley, dill, green onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, baking powder, salt, and black pepper to the mashed chickpeas. Mix until well combined.
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a generous drizzle of olive oil.
- Using your hands, form small patties (about 5 cm in diameter) from the chickpea mixture.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Fry the fritters for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fritters from the pan and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve warm.
