Ingredients

  • Octopus - 300 grams, cleaned and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Canned chickpeas - 400 grams, drained and rinsed
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Cherry tomatoes - 150 grams, halved
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Oregano - 1 teaspoon, dried
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a large pot, bring 1 liter of salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and cook for 20 minutes until tender. Remove the octopus and let cool slightly before cutting into smaller pieces.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped red onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
  4. Stir in the chickpeas, octopus pieces, oregano, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until everything is heated through and well combined.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley before serving.
