- Puff pastry - 200 grams
- Apples (Granny Smith or similar) - 3 medium, sliced
- Brown sugar - 100 grams
- Coconut oil - 50 grams
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large skillet, melt the coconut oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt to the skillet. Stir to coat the apples evenly.
- Cook for about 10-15 minutes, until the apples are soft and the sugar has melted to form a caramel sauce.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit your skillet size. Place the pastry over the caramelized apples, tucking the edges down the sides of the skillet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
