Ingredients

  • canned coconut milk - 200 ml
  • unsweetened almond milk - 100 ml
  • cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • maple syrup - 3 tablespoons
  • vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon (for color)
  • sugar - 2 tablespoons (for topping)
  • fresh berries - 100 grams (for garnish, optional)

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, combine the canned coconut milk, almond milk, cornstarch, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and turmeric powder.
  2. Whisk the mixture over medium heat until it thickens, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  3. Once thickened, remove from heat and pour the mixture into two ramekins.
  4. Let the ramekins cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  5. Preheat your oven broiler.
  6. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar evenly over the top of each set crème brûlée.
  7. Place the ramekins under the broiler for about 2-4 minutes, watching closely until the sugar caramelizes and forms a crust.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
