- Chickpeas - 200 grams, cooked
- Nori seaweed - 1 sheet, finely chopped
- Kelp powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Flour (all-purpose or chickpea) - 3 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - for frying
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the cooked chickpeas with a fork until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky.
- Add the chopped nori, kelp powder, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, lemon juice, flour, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small balls (about 2.5 cm in diameter) and place them on a plate.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a generous amount of olive oil.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place the boulettes in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels before serving.
