Ingredients

  • Chickpeas - 200 grams, cooked
  • Nori seaweed - 1 sheet, finely chopped
  • Kelp powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Flour (all-purpose or chickpea) - 3 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash the cooked chickpeas with a fork until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky.
  2. Add the chopped nori, kelp powder, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, lemon juice, flour, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls (about 2.5 cm in diameter) and place them on a plate.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a generous amount of olive oil.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the boulettes in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  6. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels before serving.
