  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Slice the baguette into 1 cm thick pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle the slices with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, black pepper, and remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Mix well.
  5. Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  6. Top each slice of toasted bread with the tomato mixture, ensuring an even distribution.
  7. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar if desired, and serve immediately.
