- Fresh mushrooms (button or cremini) - 200 grams, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Thyme - 1 teaspoon, fresh or dried
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated (optional)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are softened and have released their moisture.
- Stir in the chopped parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- While the mushrooms are cooking, brush both sides of the baguette slices with the remaining olive oil and place them on a baking sheet.
- Toast the baguette slices in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove the baguette from the oven and top each slice with the mushroom mixture. If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
