Ingredients

  • Baguette - 1 small (about 200g)
  • Black olives (pitted) - 100g
  • Green olives (pitted) - 50g
  • Capers - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Slice the baguette into 4 pieces, each about 5 cm wide, and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Toast the baguette slices in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are lightly golden and crispy.
  4. While the bread is toasting, prepare the tapenade by placing the black olives, green olives, capers, garlic, parsley, lemon juice, and olive oil in a food processor.
  5. Blend the ingredients until you achieve a smooth yet slightly chunky paste. If needed, add a little more olive oil for desired consistency.
  6. Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  7. Spread a generous amount of the tapenade on each toasted baguette slice.
  8. Finish with a sprinkle of black pepper to taste and serve immediately.
