Ingredients

  • Leeks - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Baguette - 1 small, sliced
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Trim the leeks, slice them in half lengthwise, and rinse thoroughly under cold water to remove any grit. Slice the leeks into thin half-moons.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced leeks to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the leeks are soft and slightly caramelized.
  4. Stir in the chopped thyme and cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  5. Meanwhile, toast the baguette slices in a toaster or under a broiler until golden brown.
  6. To assemble, place the toasted baguette slices on plates and generously top with the sautéed leeks. Garnish with fresh parsley and an extra drizzle of olive oil if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Tartine de Poireaux!
