Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 400 grams, peeled and thinly sliced
  • Smoked salmon - 100 grams, sliced
  • Shrimp - 100 grams, peeled and deveined
  • Crème fraîche - 200 grams
  • Gruyère cheese - 150 grams, grated
  • Shallot - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped shallot and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  3. Add the sliced potatoes to the skillet, stirring to coat with the oil and cook for about 5 minutes, until slightly softened.
  4. In a bowl, mix the crème fraîche with salt, black pepper, and chopped dill.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potato mixture, followed by the smoked salmon and shrimp. Pour half of the crème fraîche mixture over this layer.
  6. Add the remaining potatoes on top, followed by the rest of the crème fraîche mixture. Finally, sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra dill if desired.
