Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 300 grams
  • Low-fat crème fraîche - 100 grams
  • Reblochon cheese - 100 grams
  • Bacon (lean) - 50 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium (about 100 grams)
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh chives - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds, then boil them in salted water for about 10 minutes until just tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and chopped bacon to the skillet and cook until bacon is crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a large baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then add the bacon and onion mixture evenly over the top.
  6. Spread half of the crème fraîche over the bacon and onion mixture, followed by half of the Reblochon cheese cut into slices.
  7. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, crème fraîche, and cheese, seasoning each layer with salt and black pepper.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh chives before serving.
