Ingredients

  • Shortcrust pastry - 200 grams
  • Ground beef - 150 grams
  • Ground pork - 100 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, grated
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Heavy cream - 50 ml
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Roll out the shortcrust pastry on a floured surface to fit a 24 cm tart pan. Place the pastry in the pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
  3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the grated carrot and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, sautéed vegetables, heavy cream, chopped thyme, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  6. Pour the meat mixture into the pastry-lined tart pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the crust is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
