- Shortcrust pastry - 200 grams
- Ground beef - 150 grams
- Ground pork - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Carrot - 1 medium, grated
- Egg - 1 large
- Heavy cream - 50 ml
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Roll out the shortcrust pastry on a floured surface to fit a 24 cm tart pan. Place the pastry in the pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the grated carrot and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, sautéed vegetables, heavy cream, chopped thyme, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
- Pour the meat mixture into the pastry-lined tart pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
