Ingredients
- Puff pastry - 1 sheet (about 250g)
- Ripe tomatoes - 300g, sliced
- Canned tuna in olive oil - 150g, drained
- Goat cheese - 100g, crumbled
- Fresh basil - 10g, chopped
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a 20cm tart pan, trimming the excess pastry.
- Prick the bottom of the pastry with a fork to prevent it from puffing up while baking.
- In a bowl, mix the drained tuna, crumbled goat cheese, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Spread the tuna mixture evenly over the base of the pastry.
- Layer the sliced tomatoes on top of the tuna mixture, slightly overlapping them.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baked.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the tomatoes are slightly caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
