Ingredients
- Almond flour - 150g
- Egg - 1 large
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 50ml
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh tomatoes - 200g, sliced
- Fresh basil - 10g, chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Mozzarella cheese - 100g, shredded
- Black pepper - to taste
- Balsamic glaze - for drizzling
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour and salt, then add the egg and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Gradually add water, mixing until the dough is smooth and pliable.
- Press the dough into a 25cm (10-inch) tart pan evenly across the bottom and up the sides. Prick the bottom with a fork.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until lightly golden.
- Meanwhile, prepare the toppings by mixing sliced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Once the crust is baked, remove it from the oven and layer the tomato mixture evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the tomatoes.
- Return the tart to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
