- Plums - 300 grams, pitted and quartered
- All-purpose flour - 150 grams
- Unsalted butter - 75 grams, cold and cubed
- Granulated sugar - 50 grams, plus extra for topping
- Egg - 1 large
- Milk - 50 ml
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add 50 grams of sugar, the egg, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and roll it out to fit a 20 cm tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess.
- Arrange the quartered plums evenly over the tart crust.
- Sprinkle a little extra sugar over the plums to enhance their sweetness.
- Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the plums are tender.
- Allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
