Ingredients

  • Plums - 300 grams, pitted and quartered
  • All-purpose flour - 150 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 75 grams, cold and cubed
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams, plus extra for topping
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Milk - 50 ml
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add 50 grams of sugar, the egg, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and roll it out to fit a 20 cm tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess.
  5. Arrange the quartered plums evenly over the tart crust.
  6. Sprinkle a little extra sugar over the plums to enhance their sweetness.
  7. Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the plums are tender.
  8. Allow the tart to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
