Ingredients

  • Pâte brisée (shortcrust pastry) - 150g
  • Ground almonds - 100g
  • Sugar - 75g
  • Butter (unsalted, melted) - 50g
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Almond extract - 1 tsp
  • Milk - 2 tbsp
  • Sliced almonds - 20g
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting) - 1 tbsp

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Roll out the pâte brisée and fit it into a 20cm tart pan, trimming the excess pastry.
  3. Prick the bottom of the pastry with a fork and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ground almonds, sugar, melted butter, eggs, almond extract, and milk, and mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the almond filling into the chilled tart shell, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top of the filling.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the tart is golden brown and set in the center.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
