- Saucisse de Toulouse (French sausage) - 250 grams
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Dijon mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh arugula - 50 grams
- Cheese (e.g., Comté or Gruyère) - 50 grams, sliced
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium heat.
- Remove the casing from the Saucisse de Toulouse and form it into two patties.
- Season both sides of the patties with salt and black pepper.
- Cook the patties on the grill or in the frying pan for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and browned.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced onion. Cook until caramelized, about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the patties are finishing, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
