Ingredients

  • Cherry tomatoes - 250 grams
  • Baguette (French bread) - 1 small
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh basil leaves - 10 grams, chopped
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Slice the cherry tomatoes in half and place them in a bowl.
  3. Add minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomatoes. Toss gently to coat.
  4. Spread the seasoned tomatoes onto a baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Roast the tomatoes in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until they are softened and slightly caramelized.
  6. While the tomatoes are roasting, slice the baguette into 1 cm thick slices.
  7. Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil and place them on another baking sheet.
  8. Toast the baguette slices in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  9. Remove the roasted tomatoes and toasted bread from the oven.
  10. Top each toasted baguette slice with a spoonful of the roasted tomato mixture and a sprinkle of fresh basil.
