Ingredients

  • 200g ground beef (80% lean)
  • 100g raclette cheese, sliced
  • 2 whole wheat burger buns
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 50g baby spinach
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the sliced onion until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then form into two equal patties.
  3. In the same skillet, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place the sliced raclette cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  5. While the cheese is melting, toast the whole wheat burger buns in a separate pan or toaster until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading Dijon mustard on the bottom bun, adding a layer of baby spinach, placing the cheese-topped patty on top, and finishing with the caramelized onions. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately with a side of your choice.
