Ingredients

  • octopus - 400 grams
  • olive oil - 3 tablespoons
  • garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • sea salt - to taste
  • black pepper - to taste
  • lemon wedges - for serving

Steps

  1. Begin by cleaning the octopus under cold running water, removing any beak or innards.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the octopus. Simmer for about 30 minutes or until tender.
  3. Once cooked, remove the octopus and let it cool. After it has cooled, cut it into manageable sections.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  5. Add the octopus pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Preheat the plancha or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the marinated octopus on the grill.
  7. Cook the octopus for about 3-4 minutes on each side until it has nice grill marks and is heated through.
  8. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving with lemon wedges.
