Ingredients
- Russet potatoes - 500 grams
- Vegetable oil (for frying) - 500 ml
- Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- Peel the Russet potatoes and cut them into thick sticks, approximately 1 cm wide.
- Soak the potato sticks in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat them dry with a clean towel.
- In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F).
- Carefully add the dried potato sticks to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot.
- Fry the potatoes for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, then remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- While still hot, season the fries with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Toss to coat evenly.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
