- Potatoes (Yukon Gold or similar) - 400 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into 2 cm cubes for even cooking.
- Rinse the potato cubes under cold water to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
- Add the potato cubes to the skillet in a single layer and cook without stirring for about 5 minutes until they start to turn golden brown.
- Gently stir the potatoes, then add the minced garlic, fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Continue to sauté the potatoes for another 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender inside and crispy outside.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
