  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Vegan mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
  • Fresh basil leaves - a handful
  • Fresh tomatoes - 2 medium, sliced
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt, then make a well in the center.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the well, and mix until a rough dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F).
  7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  8. Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border for the crust.
  10. Distribute the sliced fresh tomatoes and sprinkle the vegan mozzarella cheese on top.
  11. Season with black pepper and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
  12. Remove the pizza from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
