- Dates - 75 grams, pitted and chopped
- Pistachios - 30 grams, roughly chopped
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, until a dough forms.
- In a separate bowl, mix the chopped dates, pistachios, and cardamom powder to create the filling.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.5 cm thickness. Cut out circles of about 8 cm in diameter.
- Place a teaspoon of the filling in the center of each circle and fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape, sealing the edges with a fork.
- Arrange the pastries on the prepared baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch.
