- Puff pastry - 250 grams
- Ground chicken or turkey - 150 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Spinach - 100 grams, chopped
- Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Egg - 1, for egg wash
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground chicken or turkey to the skillet, along with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped spinach and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until wilted.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly, then fold in the crumbled feta cheese.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thickness. Cut into squares (approximately 10cm x 10cm).
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the pastry over to form a triangle and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
- Beat the egg and brush the mixture over the tops of the pastries for a golden finish.
- Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
