Ingredients

  • Almond flour - 150 grams
  • Powdered sugar - 100 grams
  • Egg whites - 2 large
  • Orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Sliced almonds - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the dry mixture, then add the orange blossom water and vanilla extract.
  5. Mix until just combined, being careful not to deflate the egg whites.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 5 cm apart.
  7. Garnish each cookie with a few sliced almonds on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
