Ingredients
- Ground pork - 200g
- Ground beef - 200g
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Thyme - 1 teaspoon, dried
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon, grated
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Egg - 1 large, beaten
- Dairy-free pastry dough - 250g
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, parsley, thyme, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Add the beaten egg to the meat mixture and stir until combined.
- Roll out the dairy-free pastry dough on a lightly floured surface to fit your baking dish.
- Transfer half of the pastry into the baking dish, pressing it into the corners and up the sides.
- Fill the pastry with the meat mixture, packing it down gently.
- Cover the filling with the remaining pastry, sealing the edges well. Make a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
