  • Yellow onions - 2 large

  • Heavy cream - 60 ml
  • Grated Gruyère cheese - 100 grams
  • Parmesan cheese - 20 grams
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Peel and thinly slice the yellow onions.
  3. In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown.
  4. Add garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and fresh thyme to the onions, stirring for another minute to combine the flavors.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the heavy cream until well mixed.
  6. Transfer the onion mixture to a baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese and Parmesan cheese on top of the onions.
