Ingredients
- Ground beef (lean) - 400 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Apple (firm, such as Granny Smith) - 1 medium, sliced
- Butter - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Camembert cheese - 100 grams, sliced
- Burger buns - 2, preferably whole grain
- Arugula or mixed greens - 1 cup
- Dijon mustard - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Form into 2 equal patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, melt butter in another skillet over medium heat. Add the apple slices and brown sugar, cooking until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- In the last minute of cooking the beef patties, add the slices of Camembert cheese on top to melt slightly.
- Toast the burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading Dijon mustard on the bottom bun, adding arugula, the beef patty with melted cheese, and the caramelized apples. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of side.
