Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 300 grams
  • Garlic clove, minced - 1
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Pita bread or burger buns - 2
  • Tomato, sliced - 1
  • Cucumber, sliced - 1/2
  • Red onion, thinly sliced - 1/4
  • Greek yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Dried oregano - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
  2. Divide the lamb mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the lamb patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. While the lamb burgers are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dried oregano, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
  5. Toast the pita bread or burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until warm and slightly crispy.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing the lamb patty on the bread, then topping with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions. Drizzle the yogurt sauce on top.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
