Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Brioche buns - 2
  • Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Dijon mustard - 2 teaspoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Swiss cheese - 2 slices

Steps

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Form the mixture into 2 equal patties.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook the beef patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  5. While the patties are cooking, toast the brioche buns in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun, placing the patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a generous portion of caramelized onions, and finally topping with the other half of the bun.
