- Zucchini - 2 medium (about 300g)
- Heavy cream - 100ml
- Grated Gruyère cheese - 100g
- Parmesan cheese - 30g
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Wash the zucchinis and slice them into thin rounds (about 5mm thick).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the zucchini slices to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until slightly softened. Remove from heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, grated Gruyère cheese, nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the zucchini slices at the bottom, then pour half of the cheese mixture over them.
- Repeat with the remaining zucchini and cheese mixture, finishing with a layer of Gruyère on top.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
