Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80% lean) - 250 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 small (about 70 grams)
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Carrot, finely chopped - 1 medium (about 60 grams)
  • Celery, finely chopped - 1 stalk (about 40 grams)
  • Canned tomatoes (crushed) - 400 grams
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Zucchini (spiralized) - 200 grams
  • Grated Parmesan cheese - 30 grams (optional, for serving)

Steps

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. While the sauce simmers, prepare the zucchini noodles according to package instructions or sauté them in a separate pan for 3-4 minutes until tender.
  8. Serve the Bolognese sauce over the zucchini noodles and top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
