- Ground beef (80% lean) - 250 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Onion, finely chopped - 1 small (about 70 grams)
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Carrot, finely chopped - 1 medium (about 60 grams)
- Celery, finely chopped - 1 stalk (about 40 grams)
- Canned tomatoes (crushed) - 400 grams
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Zucchini (spiralized) - 200 grams
- Grated Parmesan cheese - 30 grams (optional, for serving)
Steps
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- While the sauce simmers, prepare the zucchini noodles according to package instructions or sauté them in a separate pan for 3-4 minutes until tender.
- Serve the Bolognese sauce over the zucchini noodles and top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
